FOOD FOR THOUGHT
"TIME"
We measure it in minutes, hours and days. We never seem to have enough time for everything we need or want to do. At times we feel rushed and at other times we feel bored. Maybe this is were we are assuming the wrong idea of what time is meant to be for us. If you want to know what to do with your time, then stop and think of the one person who created it! And then ask yourself, how did HE use HIS time and what did HE use it for.
G~D created time, HE used time and HE still is using time. To best answer these questions about time we need to go to G~d's word and read about it. First of all, think about how long it takes a person to accomplish an endeavor or project....some would say, that they did it in good time and others would say, they were lazy and wasted time. G~D created the world and universe in 6 days, then HE rested on the 7th. Now if you go according to the scientific media, our earth is billions of years old and the time between pre-historic and now is another billions of years old. So how long in our time (that we know and use) did G~D take to create the world? G~D's word says 6 days, but, is that 6 of our days? In 2 Peter 3:8 it says, "But, beloved be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." If G~Ds word says this, then we have been assuming the wrong thing. We can't judge time by what we know. G~D has not changed and will not change according to HIS word. What HIS word said and meant back then is still the same meaning for today. We change, but HE does not!
So, therefore, if we put it all into perspective according to G~Ds word, then our time is meaningless. We cannot judge another's performance by our time. We really can't judge our own performance by our time. If this is the reasoning, then you might be asking yourself, "then how do I judge myself and what do I do with my time?"
Man was created by G~D for one purpose....to give G~D, the Creator a friend. If you don't believe this, then go to G~D's word and read, 1 John 1:3, "That which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with HIS SON Jesus." What does fellowship mean? Don't you consider being with a friend and conversing with them fellowship? Isn't this why most people go to church, to be with and fellowship with other people that feel the same as they do about Christianity?
This is what G~d wants above all things is to fellowship with HIS created. Spend time talking to each other, getting to know each other, trusting in each other, this is fellowshipping!!!
We spend too much of our time on trivial matters of the world and do not spend enough time fellowshipping with G~d! When was the last time you read your Bible, or actually got on your knees and talked to G~D? Does G~D have your whole heart/attention or just part of it on Sundays? And if only on Sundays, are you actually fellowshipping with G~d or just listening to a man orate from the word of G~d? Time does not matter to G~d, only to us. Are you too busy in any given day to talk with G~d, your creator? When this world is over or your life ends, will you be able to stand before G~d and say, "My Father, now we can fellowship face to face." And would you be able to pick up the last conversation you had with HIM and be able to continue with it?
When you stop from your daily activities and think about this, long and hard....you would understand why it's so important to be in fellowship constantly with G~d. HE should be the first person you talk with in the morning and last person at night. And all throughout your day, you should be fellowshipping with HIM. One might ask how do you do this? Not everyone can just spend the entire day on their knees in prayer. No...the way to keep in constant fellowship with G~d is through the HOLY SPIRIT. The one person that comes into your heart and lives, through HIM, you have an inner witness to all you do all day long, if you will allow HIM to be this. HE is your constant guide. Next time you are asked to do something, search your heart, lay it parallel to G~ds word, does it feel right? Would Jesus do it if HE was asked? Would you like for G~d to see you do it? This is the mark of a true Christian...one that follows/fellowships with HIS creator all the time. They honor their time that G~d has given them, by giving it back to HIM!
I have found, that if I give my first attention/time to G~d then I wind up with all the extra time that's needed to do what I need or want to do. This may not make since to some, but if you will try it, honor G~d with your first, HE will give you HIS best! HE created time, why don't you allow HIM to use it through your daily life? If a thousand years to HIM is as one day for us, just think about how well our life's time could be managed and used, if we allow HIM to do it!!!
James 4: 14-"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."
