FOOD FOR THOUGHT

LOOKS LIKE "CHRIST"MAS !

What do you think of when Christmas time is here? Pine trees all lit up with ornaments and tinsel hanging off of it and brightly wrapped presents under the boughs? The excitement of Old St. Nick and his reindeer flying through the air to bring joy and merriment to all the children that have been good? To each and everyone one of us, Christmas means something. Whether it's a memory laying dormant in our mind from childhood that we pull out once a year or a tradition we created ourselves to hand down to our own children, and there is nothing wrong with any of these things that you hold dear to your heart. But, in our quest to have an enjoyable and memorial Christmas, do we forget why we even celebrate this season? I know most of you are going to tell me, that Jesus wasn't even born this time of year. And right you are! Truth being, the holiday we celebrate as Christmas is a pagan holiday. The only reason we have placed our Lord and Savior within this mass celebration was to appease the heathens of that time.

Have you ever noticed that when Christmas is close, everyone gets soft and gooey, even people that never give G~d the time of day sing praises to the most High and His heavenly host. Why do you think this is so? Could it be that G~d is honoring this time of year, this Christmas season because His people do? If so, it makes a person that knows G~d feel a bit giddy. But it can also make a person sad. Why do people praise and worship G~d only at this time of year? We should be doing it everyday all year long! !!

Christmas shouldn't be the only time of remembering and reflecting on G~ds Word, His SON, Jesus the Anointed one. Doesn't G~ds word say to seek Him first and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you!? What does that text mean to you? It means, to seek His will in and for your life, give Him control of your existence, thank Him for the breath you breathe, (which by the way you couldn't take without His permission). As the old song says, "Let go and Let G~d." But many of us don't do this, we plod along allowing G~d just enough room in our lives to help us when we screw up. And, boy, do we ever scream loud and long when things aren't going according to how we think they should! But, G~d is faithful, He answers us in our times of trouble. But that isn't what Jesus did for you, "He came that you may have life and that more abundantly!"

If you keep Jesus at the forefront of all your activities, he can and will surely bless your life in a special way. The next time you sing a Christmas carol, "Noel" or "We Three Kings," etc. really think about what Jesus did for you and me. "HE" reconciled the sinful world to G~d the Father. "HE" took upon Himself our sin, diseases, infirmities and sicknesses. "HE" created the way for us to be back in favor with G~d, just like it was in the Garden of Eden. "HE" made the way for us to sit in Heavenly places with "HIM," now in this life and in our life for eternity. When we think about all that Jesus did for us, how can Christmas be just a twinkling tree, chestnuts on an open fire, giblet gravy or a fat man in a red suit?

We just nibble at the crumbs on the floor. Why, when we can have the entire buffet! If we would put Jesus first before everything, that would be seeking G~d and His righteousness. This means that the first thing you do in the morning when your brain comes out of its comatose state, is to thank Him for the day you are about to embark on. Ask Him to be with you through-out the day and to help you make the right choices. Then as you carry out your daily activities, pause every once in awhile and give Him thanks for all that He is doing for you. Before you go to bed at night, reflect on your day, and thank Him again for the times He intervened on your behalf When you approach each and every day in this manner, and couple it with faith that He is actually going to do those things you ask of Him, you will see a drastic difference. You will be able to accomplish more in less time, you won't make any mistakes, you will find you have more patience to do your tasks, and you will find that you have an inter peace that surpasses all human understanding. This is the abundant life Jesus told us about. And it gets better... soon you will find yourself praising Him for just being G~d, and then He will allow the windows of heaven to open and He will pour out blessings that you can't even imagine. This is what He meant when He said, "...that He would add all these things unto you."

You see, G~d doesn't push anything on us. The Holy Bible is a Buffet table, all the words written within are food for the Spirit, feed your Spirit, (this is the one time in your life you can gorge yourself and never get too fat), let the word of G~d dwell within your Spirit richly, apply all you absorb into your daily life, (let G~ds word be true and every man a lier), place your faith in Jesus, the Living Word of G~d, believe on Him whom He sent, and the G~d of Heaven, our Father, will look upon you as a joint heir with Christ Jesus. So, all that has been given to Jesus from G~d the Father is yours to claim, now and forever. What did Jesus have? Think about that.. what did Jesus have that G~d gave Him? Its limitless, isn't it? What did Jesus do with all of the authority G~d gave Him? Did He not say. "All that the Father has given to me I now give to you?" This is what He meant by, "...we sit in heavenly places with Christ Jesus." Here, now, on this earth, in this lifetime and in the life to come. I don't know about you, but I have to some times stop and chew on that verse, that's when I have to say, "..help me with mine unbelief!" Our G~d is an awesome G~d! !!

So,.. the next time we utter the words Merry Christmas to some one in passing what should be going through our minds? Decorated trees? Santa Claus? G~d forbid! The words, Merry Christmas should come from a heart filled with the Love of G~d for the whole world!!! And the only thing that should be dancing in our minds is Jesus Christ our LORD, SAVIOR, and KING!!!!

So..out of the abundance of my heart, I want to wish you and yours the very best and I pray you will have a VERY MERRY "CHRIST"MAS.

G~D BLESS YOU!!!!

The person that knows the LORD as Savior, will honor Him as Creator
